The first question most couples ask is "How much should I budget for my wedding invitations?" To determine an accurate budget, it helps to know what items you will be ordering. A typical invitation order includes:

Invitations (including two envelopes)
Outer Envelope Return Address
Dinner Cards (if everyone will not be invited)
Response Cards with Printed Envelopes
Informal Notes or Thank You Notes

One complete set of all the above items will usually cost between $2.50 and $3.50. Over eighty percent of the invitations available will fall into this price category. Of course there are less expensive invitations; there are more expensive invitations, too! But most of our customers spend about $3.00 per couple, or an average of about $1.50 per person.

So, to determine an approximate budget, figure out how many invitations you're going to need (total number of guests divided by two plus twenty-five is a good estimate) and multiply that by the average of $3.00. You'll end up with a fairly realistic idea of what your invitations will cost.
