Traditionally, the groom has fewer wedding responsibilities than the bride. However, there are many vital details which he must arrange. With the help of this list you can be confident that these arrangements are well-planned. Keep in mind, though, that these time frames are only guidelines, and your own deadlines may vary.

As Early As Possible:

With fiancée, purchase engagement and wedding rings

Discuss reception plans with fiancée and both families

Begin making your wedding guest list and ask your family to make theirs

Visit the officiant with your fiancée

bullet

Decide how many ushers you need (usually one for each 50 guests)

Discuss honeymoon plans with your fiancée and make reservations (if you plan to go abroad, arrange to update passports, visas and innoculations).

Three to Four Months Before:

Get guest list to your fiancée

Order your wedding attire, including accessories

Arrange rehearsal dinner

Decide on attendants and order their attire

Complete honeymoon plans and purchase tickets

Two Months Before:

Confer with your fiancée on colors for the bridal bouquet, corsages for the mothers and grandmothers, your fiancée’s going away costume and boutonnieres for your attendants, and order them.

Find time to discuss financial details with your fiancée; insurance policies, checking and savings accounts, charge accounts, safety deposit boxes and wills should be revised or updated at the time of the wedding.

One Month Before:

Two Weeks Before:
