What is included in my tuxedo rental? At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, your rental includes virtually everything but socks and underwear! You get your choice of any in-stock coat, pants, shirt, shoes, cufflinks and studs, neck accessory, and either a vest or a cummerbund.
At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, all tuxedos and accessories on display are in stock.
What if alterations are needed? At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, we do all standard alterations including jacket sleeve lengths, pant hems, and button adjustments for a proper fit, on the premises, while you wait.
What is the total rental price for tuxedos? At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, all in-stock tuxedos are only $69.95 plus tax. No matter what style of jacket, color or pattern of vest/cummerbund or choice of neck accessory, the price will not change.
At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, the groom's tuxedo rental is completely free with five or more paid rentals.
How many dressing rooms are available? At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, for your convenience, we have twenty dressing rooms available for men and women, allowing us to check for proper fit of each and every tuxedo and slip rental.
How far in advance should I reserve my tuxedos? At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, we suggest that you reserve your tuxedo ideally as soon as you know what style you want (color and accessory choices can be made at a later date)
How do I handle measurements and pick-ups for my out-of-town attendants? At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, your attendants can be measured at any formalwear shop in their area free of charge. They can then either mail them in or call us with their measurements (free measurement cards are available upon request). Should a measurement from another store be incorrect, Fifth Avenue Formalwear will make the proper alterations or pull the correct sizes when they come into town and try on their tuxedo, even on the day of the event.
When should the measurements be in? At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, we recommend that measurements be in six weeks prior to the event (if time permits) so that we can accommodate any special needs or arrangements that may come up. However, same day rentals are still available for last minute substitutions and emergencies.
When can the tuxedos be picked up? At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, tuxedos can be picked up and tried on as early as two full days prior to the event.
When do the tuxedos need to be returned? At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, tuxedos are normally returned two days after the event, so as not to interfere with gift openings, departures of out-of-town guests, or day-after-the-reception sleep-ins. Special arrangements can be made with prior notice.
What if I need the tuxedo for an extended period of time? At Fifth Avenue Formalwear, if you need to pick up your tuxedo a day or two earlier than normal or return it a day or two late there will normally be no extra charge with prior notice. If you need the tuxedo longer (e.g., an out-of-town event or a cruise), we have a special rental called a cruise package which is a two-week rental for the price of a rental-and-a-half, $104.95 plus tax, which includes an extra shirt and vest with tie in case you want to wear your tuxedo twice.
Does the number of jacket buttons matter? Traditionally, tuxedos have one button. This is primarily due to fit. The button can be moved up, down, left, or right to accommodate various heights, weights, and builds. Jackets with three or more buttons are very difficult to fit correctly because the buttons cover both the waist and chest. In most cases, those measurements are not the same size. The result is a jacket that is too tight to button or one that is very loose and baggy.
Should accessory colors match the girls' dresses? Tuxedo accessories are commonly neutral (white or ivory for the groom, depending on the bride; black or grey for the other attendants) so as not to overpower the color scheme but to accentuate it. Taking into account the virtually unlimited shades of dress colors and the very limited tuxedo accessory colors, getting a perfect match is nearly impossible. Neutral is always formal and stylish.
Why are Fifth Avenue Formalwear tuxedos so much less expensive? It's a relatively simple answer...we have very little overhead. Most companies rent their storefront/mall space (we own our 30,000 square foot store), have most if not all of their tuxedos warehoused out-of-state creating high shipping charges (we keep all of our tuxedos in the store...no shipping, just a few steps), and rent their tuxedos from other companies (we own all of our tuxedos). All of those things can and do add up fast! Fifth Avenue = $69.95 Them = $100 to $200 Why Pay More? Remember to always check with the BBB!
