All About Wedding
Programs |
Many couples like to present their wedding guests with
specially printed booklets which explain the order of service and identify
the members of the wedding party. These programs are often kept as a lasting
remembrance of the special day, as they provide a record of all your special
moments.
Programs can be simple folders with an elegant monogram inscribed
on the cover, delicately embossed tri-folds, or traditional four-color bi-folds.
They can even be custom designed to reflect your ideas and suggestions! The
important thing is to give your guests the information they’ll need to enjoy
your wedding to the fullest.
While wedding programs can be printed in as little as a day, we
usually recommend that you bring in your information between two and four weeks
before the wedding. The more services you will want done, such as typesetting,
folding or stapling, the longer you should allow for production.

Program #6219 |
|
Each wedding program contains several different sections.
Usually, you begin the program with an introductory greeting:
|
|
Welcome to the Marriage Ceremony of
Michelle Leigh Anderson
and
Jason Patrick Meisner
on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
Saint Mary’s Catholic Church
Milwaukee, Wisconsin |

Program #6236 |
The next section usually identifies the wedding participants.
These important people can include parents, grandparents and/or godparents;
bridal attendants (maid/matron of honor, bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids,
flower girls or miniature brides); and groom’s attendants (best man,
groomsmen, ushers, ring bearers or miniature grooms). A nice format to use
indicates the participant’s relationship to the wedding couple:
|
Maid of Honor
Jessica
Elliott......................................Sister
of the Bride |
Other people to include in your wedding program are your
celebrant, your readers, your musicians, your gift bearers, and any soloists.
The next portion of your program should help your guests follow
the ceremony. Usually a brief outline of the order of service is given.
Scripture readings are generally identified, as are any musical selections,
which frequently note composers as well:
|
Processional
“Canon in
D”..........................................Johann Pachelbel |
|
|
If
you would like to help your guests participate in your wedding, you can list
appropriate responses, or words to special songs everyone will sing. You will
need to meet with your pastor to find out the specific details of your wedding .
. . so be sure to schedule time to do this!
The final part of the program is often used to thank the couple’s parents,
relatives and guests. We have many examples of appropriate wordings for you to
choose from at Ace Printing in the Wedding Centre. |
